Technical Documentation
Sidercad has been aware since the beginning of the need for a functional automated management of its engineering design activities. It has therefore developed tools over the years for the storage of documents and information necessary for the management of all phases of the engineering process, from input documents to the management of preliminary versions and further revisions of drawings.
This experience has subsequently allowed it to enter the large dimension archive management market. The documents are encoded according to the customer/order to which they refer; the classification keys can therefore be customized, in keeping with recognized standards (e.g. KKS) or by interpreting specific needs, as can the descriptive fields in relation to various operational needs.
Technical documents of any format, raster and vector drawings, reports and spreadsheets are stored and their viewing and online printing is coordinated, with particular attention to large raster documents, which are managed by the use of proprietary technology. The document life cycle is stored through review management with check out - check in mechanisms.
Modules for integration with mail are included, in order to save the comments on the documents together with the actions to be taken. Mail can be connected to a “workflow” that oversees the “actions” to be taken on documents, on the basis of the roles that the contract administrator assigns to his or her employees; all actions are recorded in the database, so that the various processing stages and levels of approval of each document are constantly monitored.
Know-how and Company structure enable Sidercad to support the customer, by ensuring full operational use of the purchased technological applications. This is done through a complete set of qualified services, ranging from direct assistance in the application start-up phases, to training, hot-line support, and on-site technical assistance. The experience gained in digital archive uploading services is of particular significance, including the provision of either on-site or on-centre document acquisition services, with the further possibility of complete outsourcing of activities.
